The Controlled Atmosphere Furnace (CAF) is designed for the most demanding material applications. BTU’s muffle furnaces provide the precise atmosphere and temperature control needed for many processes such as glass-metal coating, stainless steel brazing. This furnace offers superior performance in a variety of atmospheres including air, nitrogen, hydrogen and forming gas. Unique features such as Venturi exhaust and patented eductor technology make it indispensable for advanced material processing.

Atmosphere Control

BTU’s Fast Fire furnace system provides precise atmospheric control of critical process parameters within the furnace. The gas control panel is designed for ease of use and to minimize operator intervention. Combustion chamber atmosphere is introduced in the cooling section and provides counterflow to product movement. Process emissions are removed from the process chamber via independent, venturi-driven exhaust plenum assemblies. These plenum assemblies extend the full width of the process chamber for uniform removal of combustion gases. Inlet and outlet gas baffles are provided with upper and lower rate flow control valves.

Temperature Control

BTU’s muffle-free furnace provides precise temperature control using segmented heating sections programmed and controlled by WINCON® Control software.

Left/center/right independent power adjustment is standard on 25” belt widths and wider.
Equipped with top and bottom heaters (side heaters optional).
±2°C uniformity typical regardless of belt width.
±1°C uniformity optional regardless of belt width.
